Self Healing Practices
Healing is not linear. Itʻs a journey of remembering wholeness; these stages are resources are here to guide you at your own pace. Not everyone is ready to reach out to a healer. Here are some simple practices you can do on your own.
BREATHWORK
Breathwork reduces stress and anxiety by calming the nervous system, Like meditation it improves clarity and presence. Itʻs excellent at releasing stored emotions and suppressed energy. It helps regulate mood and builds emotional resilience. it can bring altered states of consciousness, offers insight and self awareness. It increases oxygen flow to the brain and body and boosts energy. It detoxifies and supports immune function. It improves the lung capacity and cardiovascular health. I have a IG post below I wrote on Breathwork and what is does for me below. There are guided breathwork practices on Youtube.
JOURNALING
There is a special kind of processing that happens as you write and release your thoughts on to paper. A flushing out of thoughts, emotions and energy. It is a deeply helpful practice to purge and process all emotions.
MEDITATION
Meditation has been practiced for thousands of years across cultures because of its profound benefits for the mind, body and spirit. It reduces stress and anxiety by calming the nervous system. It improves focus and clarity. It helps to regulate emotions and brings self awareness. Then there are physical benefits. It lowers blood pressure, muscle tension, reduces stress, reduces pain, and slows heart rate helping the natural healing process. The Spiritual benefits are a deeper connection with your inner self, your intuition, creates stillness, insight, and creates space for wisdom to arise. It dissolves the egoʻs grip and opens the heart to compassion and love, unity and connection. It also encourages living in the “now”.
PRAYER
This for me in all day every day. God/Spirit can not work in your life unless invited. We live in a plane of Free Will. So ask God for guidance, protection and lean on Spirit when you need to, You are never alone. Spirit is always walking with you. Guiding you. Develop a prayer practice everyday.
GROUNDING EXERCISES
Grounding helps bring yourself back to balance, stability and presence by connecting to your body, the earth and the current moment. Itʻs about shifting from being up in your head (anxious, scattered, stressed, overwhelmed), to being anchored in your body in the here- and-now. It helps regulate the nervous system, allowing us to feel calmer, safer and How do you ground?- Being in nature is the best grounding. Sitting cross legged on the floor can be done anywhere. Gardening is excellent Toning. Chanting OM.
RITUAL
(like ocean cleansing, fire release and alter time.) In the days if out ancestors ritual was everything. It helped us process and move through all stages. It was a rite of passage, a celebration, an acknowledgement of any big shift. But it can also be small moments acknowledged. It can be morning prayer at your alter. A cleanse after a long day to clear energy. Or a burning of a journal entry.
Take what resonates, leave what doesnʻt. When you feel ready, try some of the techniques I have suggested. It can feel overwhelming, Healing begins with the smallest step. Find a step tht doest feel overwhelming and repeatedly use that. Then try another. There is a lot of information here. Keep coming back to the site and re-reading the information. It can hit different at different stages. Something else may inspire you another time you visit.
With deep love and support. Nicci
